Appointed Academy Committee governor
Reason I became a governor.
To continue to support the Academy after moving to work in the Further Education field.
How did you find out about the role?
Through working in the Academy.
What do you like about the role?
I am a lecturer in primary education at Nottingham Trent University. My subject specialism is maths, and I teach across the PGCE, Schools Direct and BA routes. Prior to joining NTU in 2022, I worked across Nottinghamshire as a primary school teacher and maths lead, the majority of which was spent at Hillocks Primary Academy. I have an extensive understanding and passion for the school and its community. In addition to teaching in initial teacher training, I facilitate a research innovation work group for the NCETM as a trained mastery specialist and co-ordinate a Maths Leadership development group for the Diverse Association for Professional Learning. I am currently on the Executive Board for the ‘Association for the Study of Primary Education’ which supports and promotes research within primary education and on the editorial board for the Education 3-13 Journal. I recently completed my Masters in Education and continue to be an active researcher.
