Appointed Parent Academy Committee governor
Reason I became a governor.
The reason why I wanted to become a parent governor was due to my passion for supporting families and children, particularly those with SEN needs. In my previous working role, I have trained as a parent group leader, offering support and information on how to handle the struggles of parenting and balancing family life. I currently work with SEN children in further education, primarily with dyslexia. This, coupled with being a keen reader myself, has led me to be a big advocate for children having access to literature and improving their reading skills.
How did you find out about the role?
I became aware of the role after another parent mention the vacancy to me.
What do you like about the role?
What I enjoy most about my role as a governor is that I can see firsthand the time, care and passion which goes into running our school. Every area has been considered and every child’s needs thought of.
